I am a Holistic Headache Therapist and one of the questions I get perhaps the most is “Okay, but what exactly do you do?” I want to explain that to you in this blog.
Holism
For starters, you need to know what ‘holistic’ is. What exactly does ‘holism’ mean?
The term ‘holism’ originates from Greek, and means “complete, whole”. The principle of holism is that the properties of a system cannot be adequately explained by merely taking the sum of the various parts or components of that system.
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”

Holism as a philosophy of life means that you start from the essence that everything is inextricably linked. As a holist you constantly see yourself as part of the bigger picture. According to this view, everything and everyone is connected and if you change something about yourself, something about the world around you will also change. This includes the principle “Everything is energy“.
You can also apply this vision to healthcare. In this case, the idea is that health problems arise as a result of an interaction between different influences (physical, psychosocial and psychosomatic). The treatment must therefore also be aimed at addressing each of these influences, so that you treat it as a whole. People say that you do not just treat the symptoms, but that you tackle the problem at the root (or the source cause).

My vision
And how do I see this?
I assume that problems with your body do not just manifest themselves. They don’t come from nowhere. There is a reason they are there, your body is trying to tell you something.
My therapy is therefore also aimed at treating you as a person, as a whole. I will not only tackle your headache, but I will work with you to find the root cause. What’s really going on? What is your body trying to tell you with this problem?
The reason I work this way is that I believe only in this way you can really get lasting results. You are no longer using bandaids, no longer just busy treating symptoms, but you are tackling the underlying problem. I really look at the person behind the headache. Who are you? What does your life look like? How are you doing?
It is very important to remember that I NEVER say or claim I will or can cure your headache. I’m not a doctor. All I will say is that I can help you discover the root cause of your headaches and then help you resolve them. This means you will suffer less from headaches. I can also teach you how to deal with your headache. If the headache ultimately goes away completely, that is just a very nice bonus.
But how?
On my “about me” page you might have already read that I am very intuitive and that I have learned to use my intuition in a conscious manner to help people. I use this intuitive gift to help you find and solve the root cause that is buried deep in your subconscious mind.
I do this, among other things, with the Intuitive Body Scan, where I make contact with your body to find out what it has to say.

In addition, but only when this is a useful addition, I use aromatherapy, Bach flower therapy, herbal medicine and my background as a nutritionist in my coaching programs. A wide range of options to work with you as a person.
